Live video feed of Ruby-throated Hummingbirds from our yard on Catoctin Mountain Maryland. The Ruby-throated Hummingbird (Archilochus colubris) is the only hummingbird species that nests east of the Great Plains (a rare Rufus Hummingbird may put in an appearance here). They are normally seen here from mid April to mid October. Our feeders are filled with 1 part sugar plus 4 parts water (no red dye).
Today, you could see as many as ten hummingbirds feeding at a time. The peak season is July thru September. Our cam is live between the hours of 8am - 8pm ET.
As we are located in a forest/watershed, there are lots of animals you may see here such as deer, black bears, and many different birds. My camera has sound, so turn up the volume and listen to the forest sounds. We have a bird seed feeder in the viewing area. Can you identify the different birds by their call?
